NEO U22-XJ: 004FW [20200612] OTA Update Issues

Hi guys, hate to another post in here but my first box saw the new firmware version 4 and was able to download and update NP. The second new box which is V3, refuses to see that there is a V4, and keeps on saying I am up to date with V3. Any ideas on how to get it to see that there is an update. Turned off power, disconnected the ethernet and power, but to no avail. If I do a factory reset will that kill my settings?. Don't really want to go down the path of manually installing, running a business and just to busy if something goes wrong.
Thanks

Amlogic USB Burning Tool v2.2.0

You must use Amlogic USB Burning Tool v2.2.0 in order to manually install the NEO U22-XJ firmware.

Amlogic USB Burning Tool v2.2.0 is available to download from below link:

I have tried the Fota update. It shows FW003A and states my FW is up to date.
I do not have a windows pc, therefore I cannot use one of the manual links shown.
I have downloaded the following link https://files.theminixforum.com/shared/firmwares/U22-XJ-V004-Android_9.0-20200612.7z.
But it states that there is no app to open this link. I presume this link can only be opened on a windows based machine.
Please advise. Thank you.

Yes you need a Windows based PC to flash.

Hold tight, I believe MINIX is having some technical issue's with FOTA currently.... some members have got it and some haven't..They are working on it!

Just a heads up. I have been in touch with Martin @Minix most of the afternoon regarding the FW004 update.
'
'It is a very long story and I have finally managed to download it by a very painful method of using wi fi and continually rebooting the box and switching wi fi networks every time. It took around 7 or 8 reboots and using alternative wifi of 2.4 and 5g networks everytime..It loaded about about 10 to 15% every time and sometimes less. Every time I downloaded and it stopped, it produced the error message that there was no network connection. The same sort of message that was produced previously whren trying to update the U9h. But my network was fine and tested out properly!

Footnote: No matter what I tried all afternoon using Nova Launcher with or without wi fi, the download bar did not move , even after 20 minutes or so. So I switched to Minix Launcher and carried out the steps above The first attempt was using Ethernet and I got about 20% of the file. After that, several more attempts using ethernet did not work. So....switched onto the wi fi.

Obviously this is not ideal and I have contacted Martin and sent him an iport log for his investigations. This message should not be interpreted as a complaint towards Minix, but merely passing on info that might be of use to someone.

Regarding the new firmware need to enable wifi if not won’t update. Initially cannot work so I enable wifi than can work.

FW003A connection Ethernet. Nova Launcher (Can't see why the launcher would affect update?!)

I checked yesterday a couple of times and the update didn't appear.
This morning I checked several times over a 2 hour period the update showed up the last time I checked.

Update went without a hitch. It downloaded within 5 minutes! :)

@dak7385 were you using a VPN?

I assume you mean FW004 and not Fw003A:)

I was not suggesting that Nova was affecting the download, merely pointing out all the steps that I took and trying to eradicate the issue step by step.

However, your question of VPN has just hit a cord with me. I have dns lily installed and it starts up automatically on boot up. Now you have got me thinking.........is that where the issue may have been. I never even considered it!!

If so, I need to apologise to @Martin for all the extra work I put him through. He has been brilliant with his support. I will have to remember that when they release the next update and see if it makes a difference.

Understood...thanks. And already written to Martin @ minix offering a sincere apology if I caused this issue by lack of knowledge and Dns Lilly.

I kindly advise everyone to be a little patient.

004FW is slowly being rolled out and within the next week it’ll be available for everyone to download and install via OTA.

If it doesn’t work for you today, just wait 24 hours and try again. You will eventually be able to install it via OTA.

We apologies for any inconvenience caused if you can’t download via OTA right now but you soon will.
