NEO X8-H Plus worth updating?

Hey guys, just located my Minix box and was wondering is it worth to update the OS and set it up for Kodi, or are there no repositories with apps out now which will allow it to function...

The Lollipop firmware works well and does give a new lease of life to X8H-Plus, I have it on several boxes and there have been no complaints. I am not a fan of KODI as it does not suit my needs, for me its the ever failing addon's and tempting 'Builds" that require attention to keep it up to date, but having said that millions of users get along with it just fine. So .. I think anyone trying the Lollipop Rom will find it well worth doing.
 
Thanks for the fast replies guys.. I guess I'll attempt a update and see where it takes me.. Instead of KODI are there any other better options to use which will make the box less troublesome and more reliable? I know with "add ons" there are always problems and many updates involved..
 
The options depend on what you need .. also in the equation, where are you in the world? .. I use a selection of stand alone apps some of which require me to use a VPN to overcome Geo-restrictions .. and generally provide me with English content Movies, News and entertainment, so that covers a vast area of world.
