Neo X8-H+ - using wired network cable and 'Fake Wifi' - Google Play store doesn't like it

Hello,

Before I ditch my X8H+ I'd like to knwo fi anyone has found a workaround for this issue? I'm running the lastest official fiormware release, which is old now of course.

I have found for quite some time now, probably years, that when using wired ethernet I can access teh play store, browse and search for apps, but they simply will not download. Nor do updates download. They just sit there on 'waiting for network'.

If I just use ethernet without fake wifi they don't work either. The only solution I can see is to switch temporarily to actual wifi.

I expect Google have implemented something which - without a firmware update which isn't going to happen - has yet to be defeated by the X8H+.

Thoughts?

I wonder if this is an Android 4 vs Android 5 problem? I'll try the lillipop firmware and see if the problem persists.

Working fine on my X8-H Plus, Android 4.4.2, connected with Ethernet.

I've had this too on occasion, going into the google play app via settings and clearing data normally fixes it for me. Note, clearing the data not cache, by clearing data it does both.

Thanks for the reply. I've gone to 5.1.1 now and the issue has resovled itself.

Just got to try and cure the EETV app now. This app refuses to pair with the TV box donwstairs, saying "please ensure this device is on the same network as your EE TV box" even though it is, because the app just detected it and asked if I wanted to pair with it. Grrr!
