newby questions

I still get the soft Minix nav bar in Nova, pull up from the bottom of the screen.

Or are you thinking of notification drawer/quick settings tray at top of screen?!?

Correct. No pull down navigation bar at the top of the screen, which informs you of mail, updates or processes running in the background, like vpn, weather etc. ?

Top of the screen is generally known as the Notification bar. :)
Bottom of screen is Navigation bar.

LOL, exactamundo!! Agreed, we'll go with those ;) :ROFLMAO:. It doesn't help that different manufacturers have introduced their own labelling variations over the years. Or, for example I still have an older Acer Iconia Tab A700 which has both the navigation bar & notification bar at the bottom of the screen pmsl. (It's hardly surprising we don't know if we're coming or going heh ;).)

You certainly appear to be referring to the "notification bar" bud lol ;).

It is still possible to pull down your notification bar while using Nova. Granted, it is quite tricky. I discovered both methods myself more by accident than intent.

1. Point your cursor as high as it can possibly go on your screen. Press & hold left-click/enter, then flick your remote in a sideways/down movement & it will pull down. (It took me a bit of practice once I saw it starting to pull ;).)

2. Alternatively (& you have to be quite exact with the clicking speed), I often find it easier to double click anywhere along the notification bar & voila!! (As with 1, sometimes the cursor needs to be high up & sometimes the double click won't work with certain apps open).

Give 'em both a try. Any joy :)???

Tried that. But it did not place the cog onto the launch screen. No real problem. Don't mind the long way round. Also noticed with Nova thst there is no pull down nsvigation bar at the top of the screen, in the same way that you get with minix launcher. This only works when you open an app. But again, small problem that does not negate using Nova launcher.
Well, I have now found a shortcut to get to the minix settings (white page). I do this to check things like memory and storeage.
Firstly, point the A3 remote at the nova screen page, press the 2nd button down, with the 4 white horizontal lines.
This brings up 4 options in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on settings by using the scroll down button on your A3 remote and you now have the minix white page of settings. You can also use your mouse to click on one of the four options in the bottom right of your screen.

I hope that this helps anyone else on the forum, who might be interested. ?

Thanks anyway. But did not work for me. No big deal.

You should still be able to add the cog icon as I instructed earlier! Maybe you went wrong somewhere?

My apologies for a misleading answer. I finally got the gear cog. But it did not open to the page that I wanted, which was the minix settings page I mentioned in the previous post. But no real issue, because now I have another work around.
?

I also have a newby question. I have Google Movies and Stan installed but can't get the remote to work properly in either of these apps. They won't let me navigate through the movies easily when browsing through looking at what is available. I assume that I've just missed a setting somewhere but I haven't been able to work it out. I have both the small remote that came with the U9-H, as well as an A3. The problem occurs with both.

Any help would be much appreciated.
