Problem with CoreELEC and HDR

#1
Hi all. I comment on a problem that I have in my U22-XJ: since Saturday every time I start CoreELEC I have detected that it was very bright. I went to CoreELEC system to check if hdr to sdr, or, sdr to hdr were on, and no, they were both off. However, all the videos that I play in CoreELEC, whether or not they are hdr, are played in hdr. Of course I have already seen that the hdr simulation mode of my Samsung Ks7000 is not connected. The result is that CoreELEC defaults to perpetual or continuous hdr. I have tested the U22-XJ in android and there it works normally, being able to effectively connect hdr. I forgot to point out that I have the latest update for CoreELEC 9.2.4.2 installed. Help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much and greetings.

I will test with CoreELEC 9.2.4.2 on mine as CoreELEC 9.2.4.1 which I currently have installed does not suffer this issue.

Ok, I have updated to CoreELEC 9.2.4.2 and I am afraid to say I do not have the same issue as you

Just to confirm, I have the following settings:
Tone map SDR to HDR - Off
Tone map HDR to SDR - Auto

Yes , I have seen this issue.

For me it happens after using the U22 with android and playing a HDR file. The GUI gets stuck in HDR mode, and also 24Hz mode if i had frame switching enabled.

Even after power down it seems to remain in this state if you then run Corelec.
The solution is to "correct" all the dispaly settings after rebooting into android, then power off , and then install/run Coreelec, after that mine behaves as expected only switching to HDR mode ( and back) when playing a HDR video file.
I am also using 9.2.4.2

Cheers for the solution, just installed coreelec again due to the messed up HD audio passthrough on android and had this HDR on all the time issue, all sorted now.

Fixed the problem finally. What I did ?
  1. Go the parameter menu
  2. Choose System
  3. Display
  4. Reset all parameters to defaut
  5. Choose CoreELEC in the same menu
  6. Reset all parameters to deafut
  7. Reboot CoreELEC
  8. After rebooting CoreELEC load normally with the defaut display settings which SDR to HDR is off and HDR to SDR is auto.
  9. After that you can choose to change the resolution, color space, GUI 4K rendering and it will not affect the display for HDR.
Thanks !
