In a moment of thoughtless inattention I wired the power to my Minix Z83-4 with reverse polarity. When I connect (correctly) now I only get a red LED. Is the unit kaput?
Ditto - how or why would you do that?!How could you do that ?
Hum now i understand....The Minix PC is installed on a boat as a navigation computer, along with a 12 volt HDMI screen, and USB GPS puck. The wires coming from the Neo's power adapter (PSU?) were cut so that I could run it on a raw 12 volt feed, without having to transform the voltage up and down again. It had run fine for about a year, but I took it out of the boat during maintenance work and then managed to connect the wires the wrong way momentarily when re-installing it. In the mean-time I have purchased a 10 inch Android unit for a car for about a third of the price of the Neo. It runs 12 volts native and comes with its own screen and GPS "puck". The same OpenCPN navigation software runs on this unit and so far it seems OK. When I get some spare savings in future I will re-establish the Neo system as well.
Hum now i understand....
It is the first time i heard a mini pc on a boat, nice

Mini PC's are perfect for boats/cramped quarters .

Yes. You can do many things, for work (i am thinking internet for example, search for anything in the sea) and for navigation .
I have seen deadliest catch but a mini pc no, it is so dangerous lol.
