Question about fresh installs

Is a fresh install necessary? It says I have to use an image from the Minix forum anyways so I can get all the drivers. I don't want to mess up the system somehow. But when I look online people say you should do a fresh install to avoid certain things. I just wanted to know if it's 100% needed.

You don't need to use minix windows image unless you want.

You can download the ISO image from Microsoft and then install the drivers.

There are advantages and disavantages using MINIX OS image.

I recomend a fresh install (using MINIX image or from Microsoft) only if you need (to clean everything, avoid problems...).

Yes, on cheap hardware, not on Minix ones.
We used them from the beginning and no malwares at all.
Anyway you can install a fresh Windows if you want to, you just need to download the good drivers...

You can download clean Windows 11 image from here:
WINDOWS DOWNLOAD PAGE

After booting from pendrive and installing the OS, the only thing you need to install on Minix Z100 are WiFi drivers:
INTEL DOWNLOAD PAGE

The rest of the drivers can be downloaded and installed automatically by Windows Update.

After you do it, you'll be left with only one device with no drivers in device management panel.
Just download these drivers from Dell's support page - DELL DOWNLOAD PAGE - and after extracting them, use to install the missing driver on this last device.

This should kill all your doubts, as both the OS, and the drivers, will come from known and legal sources.
