Rebooting issue...m

Ok, got my new box yesterday.
Got it all set up, excellent.
Updated software all good.
I have noticed the box has randomly rebooted 3 or 4 times today.
It's kept cool & doesn't seem at all hot or anything.
Just though I would mention it to see if anyone else has had a similar issue.

Well this is very depressing to read as the U9 also suffers from spontaneous rebooting, was really hoping the U22 would be free of issues like that.

Quite a few on this forum experience the same issue on their U9, how do I know, because I posted on here about it many months ago & had quite a few replies.

My original U9 brought from amazon experiences it, Minix sent me a replacement, that box also exhibits the same problem seems completely random to me & it's happens on both the stock marshmallow rom & the CE community android 7 rom.

I can be watching something in kodi & then the screen with the Minix glowing logo just appears on screen like it does when the box is booting up. I've just learnt to live with it as it is random, it might not happen for weeks or it could happen a couple of times in a week! Was really hoping the U22 wouldn't exhibit similar issues as the specs look really good compared to the U9, will just wait a while before thinking about getting one.

For the U9 it could be app related!
I don't use Kodi.

Kodi is probably the culprit, well not really Kodi but the crap addons that people install on it.

I use Kodi intensively and on a daily basis and hardly ever have any issues whatsover with the u9....i could count them on one hand in over a couple of years use.
 
It is app related for sure. I saw that to happen when I decided to install Instagram in the U9-H. That one and Facebook have been a fight I've kept with several models. The U1 would allow watching Instagram in full screen hight by changing the display to "middle port". Nowadays Facebook and Instagram (owned by the same entity) are following a same path together, Facebook is aquiring aspects of Instagram and trying to replicate Youtube for videos and live shows but so far with very poor quality.

And it is not a question of those apps being too demanding, any Android 4.4 phone with 1Gb ram runs Facebook or Instagram easily. I now believe it is an option of those products not to perform well in computers or other type of devices that are not pure smartphones.

I have not tried Zoom, but since nowadays Instagram has proven to be important as so many artists are performing there live, I decided to give it another shot and install it again in the U22-XJ. Apart from the fact the images would never fit in the horizontal TV screen, many videos would not run at all, and in occasions the system would simply crash with a restart (same goes for the U9-H). Some functions are not available, you can not upload to Instagram from a Minix box, nor from a computer - in a computer you can change the Active Agent in Chrome for a known phone brand in settings and go around that limitation, the Chrome for Android doesn't allow that.

Also when watching live shows the playing is full of sudden pauses that don't occur in the smartphones within the same envyronment.

All this to say that only because you got a powerful machine it doesn't mean it will perform better than a low ranked smartphone for things such as Instagram or Facebook, as the developers for some apps are apparently creating obstacles for these apps to run in devices that are not in pocession of your full contacts list, phone numbers and email addresses all together, and I can't imagine why... or maybe I can...

Don't blame it on your Minix box.

Same problem om my u9
I use Coreelec for kodi instead of Android problem is gone now..
