Reboots

Hello,

My U22-XJ came with 003FW firmware. Immediately I noticed that it reboots constantly for no reason, usually when I open an app for the first time, and sometimes while doing nothing. By the end of the day the 003A firmware showed up, so I updated using the FOTA Update app. The reboots continued, so I did a factory reset. It still reboots, usually every 10 or 15 min. I'm using the Neo A3 backlit remote. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Please send me a private message, I'll help to resolve this problem immediately.

At the risk of this becoming a bit repetitive, I am having similar problems with the U22 on fw004. Is there any possibility of posting the staff response on the forum. If not,. I would appreciate a pm. Thanks.

Probably been said, but DO NOT put this on top of another heat source, like an amplifier, or anything that generates heat, this unit is passive cooling meaning the whole unit radiates the heat from the internal heat sinks. You can get shut downs if it get too hot!!

Cheers

We are investigating this matter, we need time to determine the exact cause because the only reported cases of this problem are the ones in this thread, so far. So, we don’t believe the problem is directly related to 004FW, otherwise it would be affecting all users who have updated.

Anyone experiencing this problem should send me a PM and I’ll help to exchange the units. We need the affected units returned to us, so our engineers can test and identify the cause. Apologies to those affected.

My problem is I think something to do with a screen refresh rate. When I trying to watch video from USB port device sometimes reboots straight away. It depends from video quality.

I think this is a very important statement, there is a very big difference between a reboot and signal loss. There has been reports of signal loss or blank screens on V004 myself included. I know mine is also related to AFR because if I hit the home button a few times then it recovers. I hope other members take note and make sure it is definitely rebooting before returning units for replacement, ie are you seeing the Minix logo followed by the blue flashing Minix or is the Minix Metro just returning without this sequence?

John,

Thanks for quick responses!

This is definitely not related to 004FW as my box had 003FW originally and I updated firmware via OTA. It was rebooting under all 3 firmwares.

I had Minix NEO U1 and never had a problem. And is definitely rebooting not a signal loss . Long time with a computers can see the difference.. It happens only occasionally I think with a low quality video file.

My post was by no means meant to insult you, I apologise if you took offence. I was merely trying to inform the forum that there is an issue affecting some units with signal loss or blank screens on V004 which could be interpreted as a reboot. If the issue was there prior to upgrading to V004 then clearly it is a problem for Minix to resolve.

Hi Marty, i don't get offended just wanted to explain my problem. Rebooting started from the beginning and still continuing . I have bought my U22
about 2 months ago

I did try to copy video file to internal memory and was playing perfectly. Wanted to watch the same file from USB stick- rebooted straight away.
