Rooting U1

In the old forum there were links to a simple and reliable method for rooting and unrooting. There are some links now but they are inactive. Is there a way to get access to these for the U1? Or is there something just as good from google play?

Sorry for the question coming up but I'm totally "new" to the forum.
I need to root a Minix Neo-U1 to install the Teamviewer Host app. I don't know why, but if the box is not rooted, the app doesn't work well (ID and password are cancelled every one hour ...). Anyway, I found some links to download the necessary files, but these methods don't seem to work with the W13 firmware. Do you have a method / link to root the Minix U1 ?

Have you try the TWRP method ?
With TWRP installed you can then flash SuperSU.zip

Thank you ! I've just seen your post regarding this point, I'm not sure to have understood everything ...

1. First of all, may I need to install TWRP app in the device ?
2. I need to have also SuperSu already installed ?
3. Then i Need to download "TWRP recovery .img file (ver. 3.0.2-0 by AbduL )" ? If yes, do you have a link for this ?
4. When the flash is done, I need to update SuperSu to SuperSu Pro ?

Thanks for your advice. But there are some issues...

The TWRP link in message #10 says you need to be root so not much use here.

Your link in message #8 has a dead link to freaktab, and in the instructions, there are 2 steps that say "swipe". How do you do that with Minix?

And the procedure is more complicated that the old one - not sure if I want to try it - don't want to break my box...
 
After reading the comments in the above URL, I decided not to try. Almost all said they bricked their box. So still waiting for the official unofficial method from Gufone.
 
You need to be careful with TWRP on the U1, there are two versions, one that is used on an SD Card and a second that is flashed over the stock recovery, for rooting I use the SD Card version, link: TWRP_U1

Once downloaded follow the instructions in my tutorial for the X8-H Plus, same procedure apart from the TWRP download, link: Neo X8-H Plus Lollipop Root

from memory these will also work on the U1, feel free to try if you want

I am trying to root Minix Neo U1 FW013 20170629 Android 5.1.1

First way:

It should have worked but it didn't.

As in the image above, in the root_u1.bat there is a simple command: adb root is that what should accomplish the root?

Second way:
I followed:

But again the Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 which recognized the device didn't finished the rooting.

Third way:
I have also tried Kingo app both APK app and PC application.

without any luck.

I am not ready to flash custom ROM.

Any good ideas?
