slimBOXtv: Android 9 Pie Custom ROM for U22-XJ Max

I'm afraid I do not have a Dolby Vision TV to test, @pusb87 maybe?

I've always found DV set up to be problematical on the U22, whether minix or custom firmware such as slimbox.

I havent tried this newer firmware from Slimbox so cant comment, but i doubt it is fixed.

I may give it a whirl at the weekend if i can find a spare U22 but best advice is for @yalwaysme to try it himself ;).

Can you figure out what the differences are between his versioning ??

ie what is significance / difference between slimBOXtv 9 and slimBOXtv 54

and hence which is the later

I read somewhere that he changed the numbering to bring it in line with the android version so 9 would be the more recent (y)

That is correct but also not quite right!

Read on from here...

v15 became 9
v16 became 11

I can't remember exactly what 54 is? It may be something to do with Ugoos?!
Edit: Sbx v9 is based on Factory Firmware; sbx v54 is based on Ugoos Firmware(not minislimtv).

Thank you.

Thank you.

I tested yesterday, but bear in mind i did this a U22-XJ (not a max). I have an LG C2 OLED.

With the factory based firmware DV was still problematical.. However I consider it a better firmware than minix's as it does HD audio OK.

I also tried the Ugoos 6 based firmware ( labeled slimBOXtv 54 )and suprisingly this worked very well. DV worked fine with the preinstalled player and Kodi 21 alpha release.
HD audio also worked well.

I cant vouch for how the firmware will work on the U22 Max, and i note there is no Slimbox Ugoos version .

As I said, you will only know best if you try.

Many thanks.
Will ask if they could develop a '54' for the max, don't want to risk bricking it just yet.
However I only see 42 version on MINIX normal, where did you get the 54 version from?

I'm guessing @pusb87 used v42, as in his post, he referred to it as ( labeled slimBOXtv 54 )
