That is a great idea Villa !!!
I'm sold. I like the idea of not having to mess around with the internal wiring.

@Marty, as for flashing back, I assume I can solder the wiring later, if I choose to go back. However, since Slimbox is Android 9, hopefully, I would not have to.

I might install the ATV version for ease of use.

No, you can flash any firmware!

NB: If you have modded, you are still able to flash Official MINIX firmware and USB ports will work!

Just make sure you have an OTG host cable/adapter to hand for your dongle! ;)

I had to search high and low this morning to find one. I ended up finding one in a MINIX U1 box! :)

I live in Canada and I found these two in a Canadian shopping site (really inexpensive). Not sure which one to use. One is 11 pin and the other is 5 pin. I am leaning towards the 11 pin.

Do you not have the one that came with your U9-H?

I think 5 pin is what you need!
I think 11 pin is Samsung relevant.

You are a genius. Your comment asking about the OTG cable that came with the U9H made me think I needed to search for the original box again (just in case). Guess what I found in the box ? Yep. I have the OTG cable so now I am ready to start the flash process.

After finding one in a U1 box, before asking if you have one in your U9-H box, I found a U9-H box and found one there too! :LOL:

See previous post about new version! ;)
 
I flashed the slimboxtv twice and the most I was able to get was the wifi connection settings and the language code settings. Other than that the screen goes black. I am thinking to revert back since this is not working for me. :cry:

2 mins to reach the Welcome screen.

Ignore the colour banding at .20 it must be an OBS recording thing when no signal!

Check your HDMI cable?!
Swap it.

Thanks Villa,

I got through everything but the last few seconds. After the glowing black box turns to slimboxtv, then everything just goes black. I dont see the main screen you do.
