sound settings just need to line up with whatever your sound system is capable of.
Bear in mind HD audio does not work properly

very nice...connect via HDMI, choose manual audio settings and tick all sound output options is what i would do

I'll give it a try. One question, I don't have Atmos speakers, I have a 5.1 setup, so how will that effect the more than 5.1 stuff?

Atmos will probably be directed towards your front and rear speakers... i wouldnt overly worry about it !

If he hasn't configured any spatial channels on his AVR (no speakers present) & it's just configured for 5.1 only, then Atmos won't be directed anywhere & the Atmos metadata will be ignored.
