T5 Gaming Review From The Worst Gamer in The World

This review shouldn’t even exist as I am not a gamer, almost never have been, and probably never will be one. However, reviews like this for the T5 are few and far between, so you’re pretty well stuck with me if you want to know how the device performs for games.

I am so bad that even myself refuses to play with me! I did try back in 2018 with my Shield. I installed one of those huge first-person shooters, I forget which one, but you know what I mean.

Then I must have mis-clicked ( I just invented a new word) because suddenly I was in this huge Fragfest, Firefight. People running around with labels over their heads and popups everywhere saying BarfBag 684 is now dead, Armpit69 is now dead, PubicHair9 Just Died! I just sat there all nervous and sweaty, watching the chaos, frozen like a deer in the headlights, then I finally woke up and began madly pressing the buttons on my Asus Gamepad (which BTW works perfectly with The T5) until somehow I got out of that Bedlam and was huffing and puffing in the quiet tranquility of my Shield desktop. Phew! I’ll never go back there again. So that was the end of my online gaming career.

Back in 2020. Due to my PTSD from my 2018 online horror, I didn’t install an online Frag. I just went for good old, reliable, dependable, Asphalt 8. I was sooo careful not to click on the online option, lest I wind up in a huge race with Armpit69 who now has a $2000 driving seat with pedals and is on the verge of turning Pro… just waiting for the right offer!

When I got into the game, I was alone at first and happy to be, thank you. My POS Dodge Dart moved along nicely with no dropped frames but the graphics were fuzzy, the colours were rather dull. It looked like I had just developed cataracts in the last 5 minutes!

Then I thought, I bet the game, unbeknown to me, turned down the Graphic Level. I went into the options and yes, it had set it at medium. OMG, that was medium! Low must be like after taking a 300 ug dose of LSD, then walking through a foggy night in London, while wearing glasses that haven’t been cleaned in a week!

So I chose High! There was a very scary, US-style, Don’t-Lawyer-Up-If-Something-Happens… You’ll-Lose-In-Court type message. It went something like: You have changed your graphic settings to High, you may experience system crashes or other problems, not to be done if taking other medication, pregnant women should not turn the settings to high, see your doctor if you experience pain, swelling, nausea or you die, the game must be restarted for the changes to take effect!

After the restart, I returned to my race! Now we were “Whistling Dixie!” The graphics were crisp and clear the colours were bright and vivid. It looked great now, but once I started to race would my system crash, would the frame rate be slow and jerky, would this graphics change provoke The End of Days and with it The End of The Quantum Universe?

Nope! Frame rates were as good as at medium, nice and smooth. No jerkiness.

The only problem was my total ineptitude! I was banging into things left and right like a drunken lunatic. I am sure the AI drivers were laughing at me. Yet somehow I managed to cross the finish line 3 seconds before the countdown to disqualification. What’s more, I wasn’t even arrested for a DUI!

So the final takeaway from my comedy of errors is that once again the Little T5 has been pushed to the limit and responded without batting an eyelash! I checked the temp after playing for some time and it wasn’t even warm. But, full disclosure, I am running it on a notebook cooler.

Is it a monster that gaming fanatics would like to use? You know, those rigs that they assemble with liquid cooling and extreme overclocking? No, but you can play hundreds of great games and have lots of fun! As for me, I will now happily go back to my phone and play my Alzheimer prevention game, on the ocean balcony… Solitaire with an Aquarium background and soft music. Life is Good!
