To Minix staff: update question

Hi,

I noticed recently that Minix staff are responding to user questions on this forum - appreciated. I have a question I would like your response to: Is Minix planning to release new firmware for the U2-XJ to update current 006A/008? Thank you.

He has been most helpful and responded immediately, with every query i have sent him.

You may well find that minix support, which is operating from China mainland is still in lockdown. Hence no response yet.

Alex is based in Hong Kong.
 
I have received a response from Minix to my question in the OP.

My question to Minix:
"I noticed recently that Minix staff are responding to user questions on the forum - appreciated. I have a question I would like your response to: Is Minix planning to release new firmware for the U2-XJ to update current 006A/008? "

Response (via email) from Alex Lui:

There are no plans to update the version.
Feel free to ask if you have any further question.

Obviously the answer will not come as a surprise to the users on this forum. So, if you can use the U22 with the available firmware ( I can), great. If not, it seems your choices are CoreELEC (or one of the other custom ROMs) or time to leave Minix behind and find a different device that meets your needs.

Well, at least you received a reply. U22 xj with FW006A works well for me. But I have moved on to u22xj max as well, and have no real issues for my simple streaming requirements.
 
Same here, they released the unit without complete working software and even now still not working correctly. I hope when people read this forum they will think twice about buying Minix products. A big disapointment for Minix lovers. I shall be looking elsewhere for my next Android Box.
