touch screen support

Hi everyone. I purchased a U22-XJ only to find out it has no touch screen support. Minix Support confirmed this. They also state none of their devices support toch screens. But I have read people use the U9-H with touch screens on this forum. And from reading the threads it seems to be native. Am I missing something? Is there anyone using a current model Minix using a touch screen that can tell me how to get it working?

I use touchscreen with u9h and x39
No the u22xj not support touchscreen for the moment ,i Hope they put thé driver in thé u22xj ...

Hi Ralf, are these videos your setup? Did it workm out of the box? Because I have an official statement from Minix that none of their devices support touch screens out of the box. What touch screen do you have?

The x39 work with touchscreen multitouch out of the box (cool because this device have 2x HDMI out 1x1080p + 1x 4k )
The u9h work with the last firmware with touchscreen multitouch
In kodi or coreelec you have also the option touchscreen (works normaly with all minix devices),if you use hdmi splitter you Can use multiples screens,beamer...
Yes this vidéos are from me (my setup)
Thé touchscreen that i use are simple touchscreen 1080p how works with windows...HDMI for picture and USB for moultitouch fonction

Touchscreen give you thé possibility to use thé store at 100% all apps,games...its also cool for domotic ,a lot of apps for command thé TV,hifi,light.......

For the moment the u22xj have no touchscreen driver in the room but
If you have u9h +u22xj you Can use the u9h with touchscreen and make a "screen miroir" from the u22xj to the u9h ,so you can command the u22xj with touchscreen...a loot of apps existe for make screen miroir with touch command......you Can also use YATSE for command Kodi with touchscreen ,so you Can use YATSE on the u9h with touchscreen for command thé Kodi from the u22xj....there are a lot of possibility for use thé 2 devices with one touchscreen.....

Thanks Ralf! I'll try the U9-H then. It's more easily obtainable than the X39. It is typical that Minix support insists they do not support touchscreens out of the box while you proof they do. Seems like a missed opportunity

I dont know why they dont talk about it ,i think , have a touchscreen compatible device is a good argument for sale.....there are a lot of peopel how Ask for make work touchscreen on minix devices ...
For me that is the différence that i rest with minix devices (i have 4 of them) ,small things like touchscreen compatibility Can change a lot in your choice if you want buy Android box ...

@Ralf I got a U9-H now but unfortunately it doesn't support my touch screen either. The touch screen does work with a windows pc. The Minix device seems to be up-to-date. The touch screen is connect to the Minix via HDMI and via USB for the touch functionality. Any ideas?

Yes its normal ,you need to instal last firmware manualy then the touchscreen work ? ( in this firmware are the touchscreen driver)
Follow the instructions in the thread...

@Ralf It worked! Thanks! I thought it would install updates over the air as well, and the system update function kept saying I was running the latest version. But installing the firmware manually did the trick.
Did you upgrade to Android 7? Any advantages to that?

No i dont update to Android 7 ( its not officiel update and i dont know if the touchscreen driver are in this room...i dont test)
You Can test it ,if touchscreen not work you instal the other again...
For better using thé touchscreen i suggest to use a floating keyboard ,so you can place it where you want when you write ....look if you Can change thé keyboard settings to "floating keyboard" if not you Can instal other from the store...?

I know notrui its community édition ..(i am here since 2018 and before i was also in old forum).if its a community édition ( make by the community ,so it Can not be a official version make by minix ?, i dont Say its Bad...We have test this room in my fb minix groupe...it resolved some bugs with minix a3 remote , Google photos....but some other things dont work like some live wallpaper how works fine with the 008........the best room for touchscreen is the 008 how works perfect (my opinion)

If minix make a room for thé u22xj with touchscreen driver this would be ????
For me use a touchscreen with minix boxes is dealy use ,it oppen to use the store at 100% this make a biggggg différence compared to boxes with no touchscreen driver

Other example ,this connected dart game work with minix u9h +touchscreen +HDMI splitter for second screen ,it work with spécifique app how give you the Scores ..... vidéo on my minix fb groupe....
