U22 Goes Into Sleep Mode On Start Up

I have checked bugtracker FW005, but cannot find this issue before posting this. If I have missed it, please do not send in the firing squad??.
Just recently, every time I turn on the box, whether by either of the A3/standard remote or by pressing the "on" button on the U 22 itself, the blue light appears and then after a while and before the minix logo appears, it reverts to a red light and I assume, standby mode.
Pressing the on button on any of the 3 methods described, brings it back to life.

Any advice appreciated. Perhaps one of our kind mods would move this to FW0005 Bugtracker, in case I somehow missed it on my search.
Thank you

My U22 LED goes from blue -> green on boot, but then reverts back to blue again after a couple of seconds with the MINIX splash screen, always has with all FW versions.

Doesn't affect a normal boot, however, & I've never seen it turn red.

Is it possible your PSU is briefly causing an over/under voltage on start up? (Possibly entering the device into a safety standby?). Then it wakes fine after that?

The U22 uses the same PSU as the U9-H. Can you borrow the PSU from your U9-H to test with your U22?

Swapped over psu',s and u9h had no issue. Swapped back to u22 psu and now it is fine.

I will monitor it for a few days and report back.
One more thing.
Tried to put it into sleep mode by clicking on power icon OSD...clicked sleep.....went into black screen for a few seconds and then opened up to home page again. Is this just another bug. Or how does one get the box into sleep/ standby mode?

Glad your red LED issue not a concern ;).

RE: Manually entering sleep mode. This immediate reawakening sometimes happens with the U22 (and the U9-H) if you click on the sleep icon in the power menu using the fly mouse pointer itself.

Once you have the power menu/OSD open, use d-pad left/right instead to deactivate the pointer & then select sleep. If it is the same issue I often experience above, hopefully that will stop the device immediately waking back up on you again too :).

(The air mouse essentially remains active for a couple of seconds after the previous input which is just long enough to immediately wake the device back up after you just told it to manually sleep. I've tried keeping the air mouse perfectly still and/or on a level surface when using the air mouse to manually select sleep but it doesn't make any difference. I've also noticed that it's actually more of an issue with the U22 vs the U9-H because the U22 enters sleep so much faster which increases the chances of it being reawakened as well. (If I'm making sense lol ;)??)

See if that helps anyway :).

Yep...that all makes sense. I was actually using my mouse, cos the A3 is not functioning. But will try your solution when John @Minix gets back to me.

Tried calibrating, but still not working. May have to buy another...no big deal. My neighbours A3 works fine on my u22.

Thanks for all your help once again?

You're welcome bud, as always :).

Wired or wireless mouse? (A wireless mouse & dongle could possibly have the same effect as the fly mode from the A3's air mouse, for example.)

Even a wired mouse could potentially do it as well if the optical briefly remains active after you actually click on sleep & the device immediately reawakens.

Do you also have a keyboard connected to the U22? Try using the < cursor > keys & enter to select sleep from the power menu instead too. If it stops immediately reawakening you'll have another option until you get a replacement A3 ;).

Just tried your solution with neighbours A3....sorted ?

Thank you

Maaarvelous ;).
