U22-XJ has arrived... finally

Two months to the day, it has finally shown up. It was only coming from Singapore, I could have walked down and back faster. I placed the order May 8 when the world was in the midst of the whole pandemic lockdown. It was shipped Singapore Post, which means it was destined to fly here, at a time when the airline industry was shut down. It's been a long wait.

So, anxious to get a look under the hood, as it were, I fired it up to see what all the new hardware had to offer. As someone who has been running CoreElec on a U9-H for the last year or more, I had completely forgotten how annoying android can be. So after struggling to get through the various settings with an "air mouse" (absolutely the dumbest device EVER), I gave up and made a bootable CoreElec SD card and plugged it in.

I rebooted the U22-XJ (once I figured out I had to press the reset AND on/off buttons simultaneously) and booted into CoreElec 9.2.3. Went through settings and got the system set to my liking. Then I started with playing some HDR 4K videos. All looks very good. 1080P video also played fine and even some older avi TV shows in SD. Everything is playing flawlessly, even files that had various degrees of stuttering on the U1 and U9-H. Nothing, not a glitch to be found, and I was looking for hickups.

Kudos to everyone at Minix for an excellent piece of hardware and a worthy replacement to the U9-H.

Now I need to read up on what I need to do to install CoreElec internally and kiss android goodbye forever. Absolutely horrible OS (android). It's fine on my phone, but I won't buy another android tablet either. Windows, yes. Android, no.

So when will Minix be releasing an 8K box? :p:oops::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
