U9-H Remote Control Problem

Hi All

Have been using the A3 remote with my U9-H, works well. Now I want to use the smaller, included remote, but for some reason it doesn't work. I've never used it. No battery issues. Is there some way to test it? I've removed the A3 usb sensor and rebooted, still doesn't work. Any ideas what might be wrong.

Are you aware that the stock remote is infrared and must be pointed at the device?
It requires line of sight.
