Hello, community,
Who can tell me if the U9-H can correctly manage several hard disks unlike my current U1?
Actually, the problem I have, and it seems to be a problem related to android, when I turn on the U1 the 2 hard disks are not systematically recognized on the same connectors.
Once the usb1 points to disk 1 and the other time it points to disk 2. And it's random. This forces me to leave the U1 on all the time.
The problem is that from time to time, Kodi no longer finds the movies and series contained in the various discs.
Thank you for your clarifications and greetings from Geneva, Switzerland

*** OFFICIALLY - Minix themselves state that the U9-H doesn't support multiple external HDD's. Additionally, they also only guarantee support for HDD's up to 2.5TB. Details are on the forum
HERE.

However, to answer your original question;
YES, a U9-H
CAN correctly manage several external drives, (& drives larger than 2.5TB too)
...
...Having said that, the specifics of any given hardware being used is undoubtedly a factor there as well!
Provide some additional details about your drives, such as the make, model & capacity ;). Others may then also be able to tell you what has or hasn't worked for them too. For example, Minix have also stated that some users have reported 5TB HDD's working perfectly well too.
(If you still have a lot of interest in a U9-H?) The really good news is; I previously had
THREE x 8 TB HDD's simultaneously & continuously connected to my
U9-H for 4 months without
any issues or problems at all
. (2 X 8TB Seagate Backup Plus Hubs & 1 x 8TB WD My Book.) I also connected a
FOURTH smaller 500 GB WD My Passport, however, I frequently move that drive around as required.
My U9-H had
no issues with the detection, ordering or management of any of the drives on boot, or at any other time. The U9 & all drives also work perfectly with various multimedia apps such as Kodi, MX Player or VLC, & file managers such as File Commander or ES File Explorer.
Ergo, it COULD be done as you originally invisioned with a U9-H, (subject to compatible external drives).
(You're probably going to hate me for this next part though LOL
)..... - But, I'd been putting off buying a NAS for at least a couple of years myself & it was undoubtedly the best solution for my individual circumstances. (To be absolutely clear, regardless of the obvious benefits I'm not suggesting a NAS for you at all as it's clearly not affordable for you at this time
). After a
lot of consideration, discussion,
& especially help & advice from @Skynet (& others here too), I purchased my first NAS a few months ago. (The downside was I needed a second bloody NAS just 7 weeks later PMSL
. All the data from the external drives filled the first)
Hope the info helps if it keeps your U9-H dream alive
