I have two U9-H boxes and have the same issue on both
The boxes both have the same software and settings.

Both Netfix and youtube when playing just pause randomly maybe twice in an hour video typically, and i need to press play to resume the video.
Thought this was my wifi casing it so switched to wired , therefore tried a PC, laptop which all worked perfectly.

Im using Netflix app version 5.3.1.
anyone experiencing anything similar ?

I also have two U9's, they both play Netflix with that same version without issue. Are they on the latest firmware?

Yip on latest firmware.
Really got sick of them at this point.
My enigma sat box plays YouTube no problem and it's sitting next to it.

Is there any other Netflix versions to try?

I even downloaded an offline episode of antv show last night and it was still boody pausing

That's unfortunate that you are having problems. We us Netflix a far bit, the odd time I get a 5.2 error which I just usually just hit the "All Task Killer", close and reopen Netflix and away it goes..... this only happens once in a blue moon for some reason
5.3.1 is the version that is recommended by MINIX on the U9 and for me it works well. Have you tried uninstalling Netflix and reinstalling it... can't hurt

Ya tried that , and tried various versions of Netflix.

I had the Android TV version working for a while and I thought it performed better than 5.3.1 for playback.

I could try factory rest but I don't think it will achieve anything.
Think I may buy an Amazon fire stick for Netflix at this point. The two boxes are serving no function now than frustrating, I have set up an enigma box which has a Plex player and YouTube ability, while also satellite recording , so I just am missing a reliable Netflix player

Is there any settings to change Netflix stream quality of buffering settings ?
I can't see anything of use.

My other devices just seem to handle Netflix no issue, phone, laptop, etc no problem. But the two minix boxes keeps stopping and I have to press play all time.

Also is there any alternative to 5,3,1at all , I get it's the recommendation to use it but I'd like to try something else.
Is the Android TV version dead now ? It's giving an error when I try it .

Just a thought, do you have ES File Explorer installed? I used to have random stopping of video until I uninstalled it and used a different file explorer.

You should try Marty’s advice, I had a similar issue with playback but uninstalling the intrusive ES File manager solved my playback issues.

Ya I do indeed use that all the time.
Thanks , I'll remove it and see what happens.

I have the same issue with my u9. Both Netflix, VidAngle, Vudu, Prime all with in a few seconds after starting. My network is very clean. If I swap my U1 in the same cables, works like a champ.

Well, spoke a bit soon. My session horked on Netflix. I will need to do more extensive testing. Anybody know of a packet tracing until that works on Minix. I was a lan/wan engineer back in my Novell days. I don’t have a hub any more. Is there a way to tcpdump on minix?

First of all sorry for my English, for those still interested I think I found the catch on Netflix error 5.2: In my case it was enough to disable "HDMI auto-adaptation" in the droid setting / playback setting, and like magic everything works perfectly. I hope that others will solve too

Interested in what you find by removing it. I only use ES File Explorer and it doesn't seem to cause me any issues......please report back !

Removed ES File Explorer on both boxes.
No stoppages what so ever now .
However poster figured this out I don't know , but drove me crazy.

I was ready to get rid of boxes.
Thanks very much.
