Hi all,

I use the U-9H as media center hdmi connected to my TV and with 2 HDD attached with movies libraries.

I download movies with a qnap nas using downlaod station and afterwards I use a win laptop to transfer movies from qnap to the HDD that I disconnect temporarily from the (powered off) U-9H.

Trying to simplify this workflow and transfer files directly from qnap to hdd connected to U-9.

I can connect via ssh to both devices and access files (didnt tried to transfer file yet).

Also have config a webdav in both devices but couldn't transfer data between them as I believe android security doesn't allow it and need to root U-9H.

Any one have any other idea?cheers

Why are you moving files from the NAS?

Why not stream direct from NAS to U9-H or any other device?
Because my nas is most of the time off-line, and iuse it more like a storage/backup...as live in a country were powergrid isn't as stable as I would like.

Also because a don't won't to use my expensive nas hdds for movie storage.

On U9-H or laptop?

I guess the QNAP has USB ports.
Another option is you could connect the HDD to the NAS and direct Download Station downloads to the HDD.
Installed both on U9-H and downloading.

Yep, qnap has usb ports. Ive used that setup, with hdd connected to qnap and qnap hdmi connceted to my TV, but again, it would need to have my qnap connected.

maybe im missing something but if you download to your HDD connected to your NAS , and your HDD is visible over the network from the Minix , then accepting that you may have powergrid issues, surely when you want to watch your movies etc on the minix that power is available and hence you can have your NAS powered up and connected ?

Already used that setup, external HDD with media library connected to Qnap. I could stream around the house for several devices at the same time. Only problem i saw was that I'll would be powering on/off qnap all the time, and I don't think it's very healthy for qnap nas HDDs. With utorrent installed on U9-H I use it as my media center, download content to the external HDDs USB connected and also stream around the house.
