[Work around found] Original and Middle Screen Rotation Missing

Just got my U22-Xj and found the Original and Middle Screen Rotation settings that are in my U9-H are missing.

I have a few important apps that only work in portrait mode.

Do you know if the setting is there , maybe I just can't find it?

If it is indeed missing are there plans to add it?

That just has 0,90,180,270 which just rotates the display. If I set it to 90 it works in portrait mode but the screen is on its side.

(Really hard physically to rotate my 50" tv)

The old original or Middle modes switches to portrait with out rotating the screen.

Just lie on your side on your sofa ;). Sorted ;).

On a serious note..... I may be thinking of one of the earlier FW versions or possibly even the CEC/ARC fix test firmware release that I also tested for MINIX as to date I'm still unable to use any other official FW myself either. (I can only use CoreELEC to run a U22 with my other hardware, which thankfully is ideal for my needs personally.)

But, there were force landscape or force portrait options listed separately within the actual display settings.

However, I sincerely apologise in advance if I am incorrectly thinking of an earlier FW version to FW006!!!!!

If there was then there's nothing there now!

Thanks for every ones feed back. I checked another Android 9 box and "Middle" is missing too.

If any one sees an app that can simulate the 'Middle" mode that would be appreciated. I suspect it may never come back as part of android. Looks like I will need to connect my U9-H to the second HDMI connector on my TV and keep using it for my monitor cameras.

Amcrest Home and My Dlink Both security camera programs need portrait to work properly and the only way to get portrait on the U22 is to use 90 deg. (and lie on my side)
This?
It appears to display correctly. Is it different after you sign in?

Logging in is ok . The problem are the screens that is used to select the videos you play back. Top of this screen is the video ( small landscape) and bottom is a slider to search for the video. It needs to be the tall portrait screen to see it all on my d link. on Amcrest it just refuses to display unless it is in portrait or middle.

How did you get split screen? (It might work the dlink picture you sent looks like portrait Amcrest is still chopped but beter ) Screenshot_20210719-215131.png

let us test it with U22-XJ for this screen rotation problem

Split screen works great. Better then great now I can run dlink and amcrest at the same time. Two portrait screens.

Just need to down load an app with a quick switch so I can switch back to land scape like it does when I rotate my phone. (I found one, it is glitchy but there are many more to try )

I never knew of this hidden feature.

As far as I am concerned MINIX does not need to make any changes to screen rotation. Middle mode might help some portrait games or apps but they are rare and there is a workaround

Thanks

( I like the U22-xj it opens apps twice as fast as my U9-H and does not lock up like my U9-H if more the about half a dozen apps are running in the back ground)
