What I have found I need to do with mine is first press the power button (or any button for that matter) to wake/light up the A3 backlit, then press the power button while it remains lit.
Unlike others, whilst i like the idea of backlight, i find it unsastifactory as to turn the light on I have to press a button, which invariably does something i dont want it to do ! Unless someone can confirm that the backlight should just come on with a wiggle or something !!
As previously mentioned, if my U9-H is fully "shut down", I first have to press (any) button to wake/light up the A3, then press the power button & the U9-H starts normally.
(I have my U9-H set to "suspend & resume" in the "power key definition" settings. The (my) A3 & A3 backlit both perform this function as expected & desired.)
Does "wiggling" the A3 backlit wake/light it up? Not as far as my usage can tell, no.
However, sometimes pressing the desired button &
then wiggling the A3 backlit does work if the remote has only been inactive for a short period
. (It seems to depend on whether the A3 backlit is essentially still in standby mode or if it has entered its full power saving mode. (I've never observed this behaviour with the standard A3.))
Once the device has booted, I've found that using the "
fly mode" button to wake the A3 or A3 backlit avoids the issue of sending an otherwise undesired command. Sometimes you may just need to press the fly mode button a second time depending on whether the A3/A3 backlit have entered their respective standby/power saving modes or not. (The sleep timers do seem to have been adjusted between the standard A3 & the A3 backlit versions respectively. However, I haven't geeked to the point of sitting here with a stopwatch to tell you exactly what those timers are set to & it's not like anyone would actually be counting under normal use anyway lol
.)
Get into the habit of waking using the fly mode button & you'll hopefully be a little happier. Unfortunately we can't help the IR button issue & I don't think a factory reset would make any difference there either, that'll have a hardware controller on the PCB.
The only oddity I've noticed with my A3 backlit is the "gyro bounce" when I move the cursor with a very specific motion. Dumbing down the pointer speed helped & it's still occasionally present but I just workaround it. From the feedback that certainly seems to be an isolated issue as well.
