Community Edition ROM for NEO U9-H - Android 7.1.2 Nougat

Dear forum members, after having built from sources the Community Edition ROMs for Rockchip based Minix devices, the Minix Forum Dev Team is now working on a Nougat based Community Edition ROM for the U9-H.

We are an independent group (users like you) that don't work for Minix but have a strong collaboration with Minix. We have built this ROM thanks to the MINIX support, which means that no ROM would be possible without the help of Minix.

We are putting our best efforts to try to build a stable system... but in this thread you will find only BETA ROMs, this means that they are NOT YET A STABLE ROM!

These beta ROMs versions are not intended for all users, but only for those who want to take the risk of having an unstable ROM and are ready to give us feedback on their tests.

Please don't complain about things not working as you like, but be positive and share the result of your tests on this thread.

Please don't ask for ETA ;-) and please don't ask Minix for support on those ROMs.

The Minix Forum Dev Team

Download section

- Please do a clean install and clean the cache to avoid problems with the previous beta or FW.
- Please wait some minutes after installing one of this packages to allow the install of preinstalled apps!
- Don't forget to clean the cache after having updated!

Unzip and flash the ROM with the USB Burning Tool. We will not explain how to do it to prevent unaware people to install unstable ROM on their device.

Public Beta 1 [64 bits]
U9H-CE-1905-B1-1557411873.img.zip
U9H-CE-191012-RC1.1-1570866492.zip

If you need a rooted device, please install the Magisk Framework Package for your exact version of the ROM (when available) and then the Magisk Manager App.

The Magisk framework (patched boot.img for root) is not supported and tend to freeze the system. Please report bugs only for the standard ROM.

Magisk Manager
App:
Magisk Manager (v7.1.1)

my understanding is that this is a "Community ROM" with support from Minix but not one that Minix themselves will provide any "official" support.

It would also be my understanding from previous official minix posts that they are also working on an update to the android 7 ROM they released

You can call it stable if you're comfortable with it. It's called beta but it's already quite stable and it's the official Community Edition. (FYI, Gmail and many Google apps were called beta for almost ten years... :))
