CoreELEC 20.5-Nexus (March 5th, 2024)​

CoreELEC 20.5-Nexus is now available. It was a rather short development cycle this time around, which saw the CoreELEC developers focusing on fixing the most common issues reported with the 20.4-Nexus release.

Changes Since 20.4-Nexus

* Fixed W1-AML Wifi driver
* Fixed Dolby Vision on Amlogic-ng
* Added Wifi module support for AIC8800-SDIO
 

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega_rc1 (March 13th, 2024)​

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega_rc1 is now available. It was a rather short development cycle this time around, which saw the CoreELEC developers focusing on fixing the most common issues reported with the 21.0-Omega_beta3 release.
 

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega_rc2 (March 20th, 2024)​

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega_rc2 is now available. It was a rather short development cycle this time around, which saw the CoreELEC developers focusing on fixing the most common issues reported with the 21.0-Omega_rc1 release.
 

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega (April 7th, 2024)​

CoreELEC 21.0-Omega is now available. We have come a long way to the first stable Kodi Omega release, and there have been big changes in CoreELEC. It is based upon Kodi Omega v21.0.

CoreELEC 21 becomes the active development branch and it is based on CoreELEC 20.

Dolby Vision will be supported on Amlogic-ne and Amlogic-ng with Kodi Omega on certain Amlogic devices like Homatics/Dune R 4K Plus, RockTek G2 or Nokia 8010. Other devices on Amlogic-ng like Ugoos AM6+ or Minix NEO U22-XJ (Max) equiped with S922X-J will support Dolby Vision with profile 7 FEL as well.
 

CoreELEC 21.1-Omega (August 22th, 2024)​

CoreELEC 21.1-Omega is now available and it is based upon Kodi Omega v21.1.

CoreELEC 21.1.1-Omega is now available and it is based upon Kodi Omega v21.1.

  • Amlogic-ne: fix missing set frac rate
 
I see there are now 3 different CoreELECs. NG, NE and a third I cannot remember.

So which version do I use for the U8K-Ultra?

I just checked, the third variant is NO.

Another question: Is the NE version 64 bit, while the NG version is 32 bit?
And what exactly is the NO version?

This is getting confusing. 64 bit would be good, if the hardware supports it.

CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_alpha1 is now available. We have made significant progress toward the first alpha release of Kodi Piers, with substantial changes in CoreELEC. It is based on Kodi Piers v22.0 Alpha 1.

CoreELEC 22 is now the active development branch, building on CoreELEC 21. Devices using Amlogic SoC S905X (GXL) or older will no longer be supported by CoreELEC 22.0-Piers. CoreELEC 22 includes the latest codebase kernel 5.15.153, thereby providing support for the latest Amlogic devices available on the market.

CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_alpha2 is now available. We have made significant progress toward the first alpha release of Kodi Piers, with substantial changes in CoreELEC. It is based on Kodi Piers v22.0 Alpha 2.

CoreELEC 22 is now the active development branch, building on CoreELEC 21. Devices using Amlogic SoC S905X (GXL) or older will no longer be supported by CoreELEC 22.0-Piers.
