How do I update/upgrade the firmware?

Can anyone please confirm below is the correct procedure to update the firmware?.

Firstly, make sure the device has been connected to the internet via Ethernet/Wi-Fi.
Run the “F.O.T.A Update” app, ‘Check for update’, if it finds the update, you’ll see it on the screen.
Then ‘Download’ update. When downloading finishes, then ‘Click for update’.
When the device is updating/upgrading the firmware, do not interrupt it by unplug the power adapter, otherwise the OS would be crashed.

It is correct & it looks like you've copied/pasted it from the guide anyway :).

Do you definitely have the MAX model/variant as that's the subsection you've posted in, just for the sake of clarification.

Are you experiencing a problem or you're just double checking?

YES. It's extracted from the seller's site. I have the MAX. Double checking before I apply it. Thanks for your confirmation.

So I (we) must understand that there will be no more devices running on android ?
And what about the software support for the current android devices ?

The X35-i above is an Android device but designed for Industrial usage, Minix will no longer pursue the Android Media Box avenue.
And what about the software support for the current android devices ?
Unfortunately Minix have decided to leave everybody high and dry regarding updates for current devices, sad I know.

Has there been an official announcement to that effect or is that your best guess / gut feel ?

Yes, an appaling attitude to customers, where once they were amongst the very best .

@pusb87 . I received an email from Alex confirming what Marty said. I think I mentioned it before in another post.

wrt to Alex i suspect he is an employee, what customers deserve is an open official statement from the CEO @MINIX - Kenny on this forum, which after all is their linked support forum from their main site.

Don't know what " wrt" means. If you feel that strongly, write to Kenny Wu. Alex is indeed an employee in the Hong Kong office and has been the most helpful of all minix staff, to all the technical queries I have raised. So, I see nothing wrong in his helpful and honest statement regarding the future direction of Minix android development.
