Hello.
Do you really need rooting the device?

Unless you need i advice you to stay with a unrooted device.

I need to be able to use the Device reboot action block with Automate.

I used to use Wasser with the overclocked kernel but the device would freeze up entirely when operating for long hours.

Update 250 seems stable and can provide 1920x1080 but it is not rooted by default.

But what exactly do I do with the file?
If I remember correctly you put the zip file in the root directory and it will be detected and installed.
You may have to reboot for the file to be detected.
For unroot you do the same.

After installation remove the zip file.

@gufone can confirm this.

I just found a thread explaining this.

Sadly the root file shared in the 250 update thread gives invalid package when trying this. :(

Have you tried renaming the file to update.zip?
Yeah, I renamed it to update.zip and then it would be detected automatically. Giving instructions to install the package will result in the package being invalid.

Two other users also reported this in the thread so I believe the package is not valid for this update.

I don't know if you mean automate that is a app for android, i think it is.
You can try find another app that does not require root.

If an application can reboot the system without requiring root, it would be a security vulnerability.

So root will be needed.
