ISO file playback?

A Google suggests there could be problem alright, perhaps I will have to rip the old iso's to generic files but I would lose menus etc..
I've seen some devices that have Android OS and play ISO files. But I don't know exactly if it needs hardware support or software support.

I can confirm that .iso definitely plays on the U22. I ripped a family DVD to .iso with DVDtoISO, played it via VLC, it was very jittery but disabling Hardware Acceleration allowed it to play smoothly.

I can also confirm that .iso is not recognised in Kodi or MX Player.

VLC is McGyver's pocket knife of the media players! ?

Good news Marty! Happy to report back when I get this machine (May 15th) and throw every type of historic file I can find at it!
