Private Internet Access app

Hello everyone

I just got the u22-xj in the mail and is working on getting all my apps from the u9h installed on the new box.
Im having some problems with the Private Internet Access app - when i log in and turn on the vpn it connects shortly and then it just block the connection. Is there something new in android 9 i need to enable for the vpn to work? i had no issues with the app on the u9h (running 7.1.2)
Im using an ethernet cable and ive tried with both faked wifi on and off to see if that changed anything, but nothing seems to work
Anybody with a suggestion to get it to work?

Thank you, this is a known serious bug that minix are aware of and will need to be addressed urgently in a firmware upgrade.
There is no proven workaround, however, it does work OK with WiFi.
Im sure a moderator will move into the bug list part of the forum.

I'll patiently wait for a fix then :)
If this thread is moved to bug forum i might aswell add another bug ive encountered (might not be an minix issue though)
When using Nova Prime launcher long pressing doesnt seem to be working, so i can't drag and drop apps from the drawer to the start screen for exmple

Could you test something for us please, when your VPN has connected and the internet connection drops, unplug the ethernet cable from the box and plug it back in, does this restore the connection?

LOL, I was just looking through the other thread for Johns post with that suggested workaround to confirm the details.

Smart DNS Proxy VPN apps.

There are two different (not versions of same!) apps, an older one and a newer one.

The older one has issues (connection drops if it hasn't already!) when reconnecting Ethernet.
The newer one on connection switches to WiFi and connects the VPN. The connection remains when reconnecting Ethernet.

yes, but is your u22 making the connection to the internet via wifi or ethernet after reconnecting your ethernet cable ?

i just tried - it connects to the wifi and the connection works but when i plug the ethernetcable back in, it stops working again. It doesnt seem to disconnect at once but it blocks all traffic and after a short while it disconnects

Do your Wired Ethernet connexion works properly when not in VPN?

The 1Gb port on mine keeps disconnecting, drives me nuts
I can't set up a FIXED IP on the 1Gb port either. Only DHCP works. Well kind of, since it keeps diconnecting and sites are timing out.
 
Yeah. Worked fine when vpn was off. After the recent firmware update it works with VPN on aswell though

as above > since firmware V003 ethernet has been fine for me both with VPN or without.
I always use DHCP and assisgn the minix IP address through DHCP reservation in the router.
