U9-H with FW008, issues with system startup, Kodi 18.4 (movie play and YouTube plugin too)

@vuk like @ArticWolf suggested test ethernet.Install speedtest and test your speed with lan cable and your wifi 5Ghz .As you said because it's in the same room wifi is not the problem.I can't post a link but google it for APKTime and download separate apk for streaming and test it.Kodi addons will always buffer. To watch movies and Tv shows in peace use torrents with VPN from your usb flash drive or external hard disk and wait for CE stable.

Thanks, I will chceck on it!

The file playing fine over USB is your biggest clue really.

Can you test with ethernet as well? Which way does that go?

Is your router half decent & fully updated?

I am going to check, if the problem occurs via ethernet connection, just to confirm, if it's a buffering issue or not.
As I mentioned, using ethernet cable is not an option for me :/

@vuk you said video failed playing by wifi, so you must have a wifi problem...
But check ethernet connection and see the results.

Here's a screenshot of a speedtest result, this wifi speed is more than enough for playing 8-10 mbps 1080p files, I think

That is your internet connection...
Streaming from a NAS is different.
Test streaming from local NAS ethernet.

By doing different tests you eliminate possible problems.

@vuk you have excellent internet speed for torrents.Neo U9-H is more powerful for x265 Hevc with higher video bitrate compare to Neo U1.You can download any movie or Tv show in few minutes and watch in peace and you will not wait too long for CE stable.

You are totally correct.
I don't have a speedtest server running on my NAS, but it would be worth installing some kind of test to be able to check the stability of connection to my NAS.

After checked playing the same video file from USB, via Wifi and via ethernet, the buffering problem occurs only when video is played via Wifi.
Is there a way to debug the issue deeper?

Ok. You found the issue (i think...)
-Please tell us the distance to router

I think your problem as i said earlier is wifi signal strength.

There are many factors that improve your wifi speed:
-distance to router, place of the router, walls, interference, etc , etc

Check these:

The AP is approx 4-5 meters away from the U9.
AP is on the top of a shelf and the U9 is next to the TV. There is nothing which blocks the wifi signal (e.g. wall)

Let me see if i understand:
-you have one router
-that router is connected to ap via wifi ?

Please give us more details of your network

In the room there is an AP, which is connected to the router via CAT 6 cable.
The devices are the following:
mikrotik hap AC2 router
mikrotik cAP AC wifi access point

If ethernet just isn't an option & you've also been using 5 Ghz alone all this time, test playing a movie using 2.4 Ghz as well. Any changes or still same problems?

Do you combine the two or can they be separated from your AP and/or router? It's better to separate them.

You mentioned a lot of devices accessing your network in a previous post too. Are these devices accessing your network simultaneously by other family members, or is your network usage generally light from one or two people?

If you haven't set up QoS (if your router/AP supports it), set priority to streaming devices over devices that may be downloading or file sharing ;).

Bad news in a way but at least this gives you something to troubleshoot & hopefully resolve ;).

ok i understand.
I don´t know if you can configure that ap.
You must check your ap and see if it is well configured.
I dont use ap, i have routers and i can setup as i want (router or ap)

@vuk to debug wifi problem do also this:

-If you can Put the minix close to router (without the ap).

-If the tests went well you know the problem is between router and ap

I spent many time and hours to put my network fast and stable.
Test after test is the key and reading a lot

I use this actual setup for many years (except with recent Kodi NAS server - SQL), the rest is the same, cable between routers and wifi basically for mobile devices.

I tried both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, the problem is present with both.

I think I am going to try to ask around in Kodi forums, if someone else has met similar issue before.
When I check the GUI of the player, it can be seen, that the buffer is pretty constant (you can see the level of buffer in the time indicator in the player GUI), while it jumps when using wifi.
