Pure Android is designed for touch use. But Android TV is designed to use remote control.
For example, when navigating through pure Android menus, some menus do not have any clues as to where you are located.
That is, the option you are in does not change color or bold. So you don't know which part of the menu you are in !
But on Android TV these have been fixed and ready to use the remote control.
So on pure Android, though a standard remote control might be enough for your regular tasks.
But to make full use of pure Android, you'll definitely need an air mouse.

You can also use the hard drive software to determine the time between hard drive idling and standby mode.
I have a U1 device. When I turn it off, all the hard drives that are connected to it go into standby mode.
