U9-H-CE FW001 Android 7.1.2 20191120 [Community Edition Nougat Firmware]

You can call it whatever you want. We understand that you don't like this firmware. Now please stop, if you don't like it, don't install it and go elsewhere.
So .. I start from the fact that I have always written with respect and therefore I claim it .... I have four minix u9 ... Due minix u1 .... So I love this box and I spend my money for it ... I write in a forum to improve if possible or solve any problems I may find in time ... Your writing goes elsewhere is offensive .... The CE rom for my use is not functional ... As I believe for most of the people ..... Various solvable bugs ... But I demand for a paid product € 170 a good operation .... When the rom will be good for me maybe I'll install it ... So if you want to go elsewhere you ... .

Fabzilla,

The point is, the installation of this CE ROM is completely optional!!!

If it doesn't meet your requirements or doesn't have the features you need, then just remain with the stock ROM. In many cases, the stock ROM is perfectly good enough.

Based on your previous posts under other threads & on your comments here so far, this ROM simply wouldn't benefit you & I think it's best you just leave it at that.

Accept it!!

This weekend I finally decided not to wait until an official update for my U9 became available and I installed Nougat as published here on this forum. Installation went smoothly and by the looks of it, at least one of my problems (Eurosport and Netflix App wouldn't work) is solved. With one problem: no sound.

Normally I run my HDMI through an amplifier (with my TV also attached to that same amplifier) just as I do with my providers' TV box. But when sound didn't work I connected the Minix box directly to my TV on HDMI2 to eliminate the amplifier as possible cause. Still no sound. THen I hooked up a Bluetooth speaker. Immediately I had sound again.

Maybe I'm missing something, but going through the Settings from top to bottom, I couldn't find a setting that allowed me to configure where sound was supposed to go.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your prompt reply, but it didn't help me (yet). I had looked there and after your response I double checked, and maybe I don't understand all settings, but it doesn't look like selecting a sound output to me.

I see:
1. CEC control, but this is AFAIK about switching devices on and off.
2. Playback settings. One toggle: HDMI control. Could be something, but tried both settings
3. Sound. Mmm, that should be it. but this gives me only three choices labelled Dolby, Digital and Dts sounds. For Digital I selected HDMI, but still no sound.

There is also "More settings", but this brings you to the normal settings menu. There is one "Sounds" setting there, but only a few volume and ringtone settings. No option that has anything to do with HDMI output.

But sill, I could be missing something.

try setting to PCM....works for me with direct connection to my TV's HDMI

That's where it was. I hoped setting it to HDMI would help. Set it back now: no go :-(
Enough time spent this weekend. To be continued ...

When turning the U9 off via the small remote, my box appears to go into 'sleep mode' as opposed to 'power off' - can anyone help please how I can change this...thanks!

Hi. by default when you press Power button (IR remote control or a2 for example) the device goes to sleep mode.
If want to change that go to droid settings (all apps) or click ir remote control settings button to acess that.

Update to my own thread. I did manage to get sound from my U9 using a Bluetooth speak. Sadly my receiver doesn't have Bluetooth, but I thought: "Okay, let's use the headphone output". But the I discovered that the headphone also stayed silent. I want to try the digital output next, but my expectations are not high. So I'll try to find an optical cable and see if that works.

If not: I must still have a Bluetooth-to-Headphone converter somewhere. So I will get it working. But it would be so much easier (and neater in respect to cabling) if sound through HDMI would work.

you need to go into developing mode to turn off USB audio rerouting. Maybe this could be default setting in final rom. Not many aware of develment mode. (no audio without changing this setting)
