MINIX's 8K Media Hub is on its way

Will this device be able to bitstream Dolby Atmos (True-HD) and DTS:X Master Audio?

Netflix 4K certification would've been nice as I would use this in my Home Theatre room on my projector.

But as long as it can bitstream Dolby Atmos (True-HD) and DTS:X Master Audio from my 4K Blu-ray rips I'll be happy.

The S928 series is not a Netflix-certified chip so this request would not be possible.

whereas s905 is a certified chip, therefore many cheaper boxes out there should be able to fulfil this request.

Ken do you have any forecast of release date to the public, and an approximate price please?

Thank you

You already asked!

@MINIX - Ken Do you have any update on the release of this new device please? Thank you
I think May 2024 we shall release it to the public, latest June 2024.
Hardware is done, we need 2-3 months to polish the software.
With OTA it doesn't need to be perfect, as you all know it's never perfect.
We make improvements based on customers' feedback and suggestions, which is an on-going process...

@MINIX - Ken
Price?

Still running an x8 but it's at the end of it's life bbc iplayer and other things starting not to work so come looking for a new minix box, but read they have stopped making tv boxes then came back on to the forum after not been here for a good few years, and read the news about a new android tv box great news be nice if you could keep it 5v 3a power as I use it in my motorhome

Do you still have the U22-XJ?
That should be good for a while longer!
Hi just joined the forum have two boxes minix neo x8-h plus and the minix neo u22-xj

No had to send the u22-xj back because it had no Bluetooth installed so just ended up using the x8
Had a look. At the nvidia shield but it's 19V, 2,1A it's a bit more involved to get it working from 12v in a motorhome not impossible but the minix is just plug and play in to 5v 3amp cigarette socket adapter, you can run the nvidia shield from a laptop 12v to 19v cigarette socket charger but have to cut the end of the original nvidia shield charger to use the strange connector they use,but not as clean as using the minix, plus I know my way around the minix and the x8 has been faultless for about 7 years, a couple of crashes but that was down to me been an idiot

can't answer because I don't even know yet
when I create a project I normally don't ask about the cost because that would have an adverse effect on my creation.
Does Google Earth work, I have asked this already, and you seem to be avoiding this one.
I would probably recommend this device either way, but an answer to one of your "fans" would be nice.

A £100 Samsung A004s can do it.

You should easily be able to power a 12V device though!
