[Unofficial] - 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM for the U1

Thanks for your efforts on this JJ. Everything works great but I would like to use Netflix for Android TV - is there anyway to get Netflix 7 working?
Currently I’m running ver 5 which works fine but I like the ATV interface better

How do I install this pointer image? what is that TWRP for? Image works fine but not all buttons on the airmouse is working. Will be fixed if I install this pointer image?

Thanks for Android 6 on Minix U1! Other than chrome scroll and some keys not working on A2Lite remote , my problem is the patched Netflix. In kids mode it works ok as a touch for the remote pointer, but if you want to navigate with the right/left/up/down navigator keys it does not show the selected item because the background is white and the selected frame is also white. I am aware that this is a Netflix bug(or the app is only touch friendly), since it only happens in kids mode , not in adults mode where the background is black and there you can clearly see the frame. I guess there is nothing to do here... I also use the Kodi Netflix add-on where navigator work well , but for my 5 year daughter it is easier to use the native Netlix app the navigation keys.

Having issues with Skype on this have updated to the latest version but keep getting unable to sign in please check your internet connection?

Tried google could not find a solution

Anything that I can try to fix this?

I gave my Minix U1 to parents whom are cocooned and I was using teamviewer to access it. So updated apps etc and updated Ad Aware but when I tried to Launch Skype for them got this error message

They have it hardwired into the Router and can access everything else so not sure what the issue was. Thought it might be that Skyupe not compatible with ROM but I am sure I used Skype when I had this box?

Any other suggestions?

Disable adaware and see if it makes a difference. Personally I moved from adaware and on to blokada, not only does it not require root but you also have the option to bypass apps such as in this case.

Can they log into Skype from a PC on the same router? Does your router have any domain/IP/port blocking enabled? Or maybe an aggressive host file/ad blocker installed on the U1?

I'm still on Lollipop as I didn't see a need to install Marshmallow since my U1 is still working great, but since I've got a bit of free time with the covid-19 lockdown, decided to look into the benefits.
So I read through the whole thread again trying to figure out why people upgrade to unofficial firmwares and/or complain about a lack of official update from Minix, and a recurrent complaint is that Minix not updating the U1 results in apps compatibility issues.

If you're going to postulate vague issues and subsequently decline to substantiate your claims with actual reproducible examples, I assume that either your claims are unfounded, or you are not actually interested in a solution.

I installed this Marshmellow room, and now the HBO app is not working. I just get a message: No internet connection
Other apps like youtube and so on works, so there is internet. I'v tried to restart the box, installed older version of HBO, restarted router. But with no luck. It seems to be a similar problem like skype maybe?

Need them to check as think PC was ok. No blocking etc on Router just standard Virgin Hub

Installed Zoom on it also so will see if that can work. Their camera works as can turn it on remotely
 
Hello, I'm trying to find a update for my minix neo u1 and I only find this one the problem is that android 6.0.1 its getting old and I found that another android box with the amlogic s905 as Android 8.1. It is possible to create a custom rom from this box to the u1?

Are there any features you need that your U1 doesn't support right now, or do you just want to update for the sake of it? The U1 still works great for me, and I'm still on official Lollipop. My son spent the day today (again) playing Pajama Sam on it. If you really need an upgrade, you'll probably want to upgrade the hardware too, there's only so much you can do with software. The U22 currently runs Android 9, so that would be the way to properly upgrade.
