I would do a Factory reset then try FOTA update again. It's what MINIX will probably tell you to do anyway!

Brilliant!! Works like a charm. ?Unfortunately there seems to be an issue affecting some devices such as AVRs or set top boxes etc., whereupon the U22 blocks these other devices from communicating with each other & TV's over HDMI.
The only workaround we know of at this point is to disconnect the U22's HDMI, (powering it off at the mains unfortunately isn't enough).
Are you talking about it physically fitting the slot, or virtually Dak? (Just checking lol
Try inserting the card the opposite way up to your U9-H if you mean physically. (Can't remember if both devices have the slots the same way up off the top of my head.)

Upgraded to firmware 003 and was very happy to see that almost everything that I use the box for has been fixed except for just one remaining issue. My spectrum TV app to be able to watch live TV on the box still does not work. It comes up with an error which I know from experience is caused because the app thinks that the box is rooted, even when I have the root switch in the off position. I have another box which had the same issue and installing magisk and hiding root access from it solved the issue.
Unfortunately I've been unable to find a successful way to install magisk on the U22. If anyone knows how I may be able to do this or could help me out it would be much appreciated

pretty sure it's a root issue The error is not specific but from previous experience using magisk hide on another box fixed it
I have done the reset and tried to update using OTA. It did not work. Just provides an error and installation aborted text
Most disappointing are the wishy washy colours. The Minix launcher is a bright pale blue, almost grey blue colour fading in the corners.
When I tried it yesterday, it was the same. Even going to the apps page, it looks washed out and grey. On the U9, the page is crisp, with black background and clear labels So, I reset my TV to factory settings and updated. The result was the same.
I plugged in the Uh and the colours were perfect, as were the other two android boxes I purchased for comparison tests against the MInix system.
I just hope that the new FW release by minix will cure this.

Were the Key Layout files changed for the U22-XJ? My 1st Gen A3 remote with no backlight behaves differently on my U22-XJ. On my U9-H it has no issues navigating Nova Launcher with the D-Pad, dragging icons in the app drawer to the home screen, nor creating widgets. I'm hoping this is the cause of my trouble, because not being able to use Nova Launcher as I want to is frustrating me. I am on 003FW.

Try disabling dolbyvision and set the SDR to HDR option to off. Unless your set has dolbyvision you get the symptoms you described. These options should be set to off from the factory.
HI. Thank you...I tried that, but this morning when I turned the U22 on the colors were bright orange and blue. I have now reset the box and will wait for the latest amendment to FW003 before doing anything else. It seems that the U22 reset all my tv colours /hue/contrast etc. But no such issue with the U9h

There is a procedure on the Odroid N2 wiki on how to install Magisk. I did try this on the u22, and got as far as getting a Magisk patched boot image . When I tried to flash the patched boot image, I got a Device locked message. I do not know how to unlock the boot loader on the u22, so I gave up for tonite.
I should add I have had to do this after every update on the Odroid N2, and it works great.

I finally managed to get the colours/contrast etc sorted out by going to the TV settings and making some adjustments. I have to say that the picture on an app I am using is excellent. Again, I made sure that the setttings that you (Johnnyc604 ) recommended were carried out.
You don't need to install Magisk, you can just switch on "root".
Click the big cog icon on the menu, then "device preferences", "system root", and turn "ROOT" on.
There's only a bug in that you'll have to turn it off and on again when you reboot your box if you need root; personally, I don't need root all the time, only when I update the host file.

Thank you. That is exactly what I have now, but on FW 002 after adjusting picture colours,brightness,contrast, hue and black controls etc on my Sony TV.
Just waiting for the latest FW 003 update from minix. Hope it downloads ok this time

something strange going on with your u22 as colours were fine on both FW002 and FW003 without having to change any TV settings.
and you need to do this as well otherwise the minix tries to force some kind of HDR/DV output. I can assure you that they have been made aware of this issue.
