Can someone explain to a layman like me if it is down to Amlogic, who I understand are the chipset manufacturers, why does the multi-channel audio work on the device running under Coreelec? Is it down to the interface between the chipset and the android operating system, like in the PC world a hardware manufacturer not providing drivers that work with an operating system?

I also think that the problem lies with Minix, if coreelec does get it working and Minix does not, the problem is really with them, I just guess because the file files have to be processed in android and not amlogic. They only supply the chips.
 
Or do they think at Minix we sell a box for € 200 and we don't do much about it, once inside they can no longer exchange or return it. If so then it really is a scammers mess
 
Must admit the lack of communication from minix regarding HD audio passthrough issues is annoying.

Nearly 4 months since the last firmware update, if this major issue is never going to be fixed I'd rather minix just admitted as much.

You pay your u22xj more than 200€ ? ?????? Thé u22xj coast max 150€ ! 165€ with a3 ,dont buy your box in pharmacy

We are here in officiel minix forum and posts about non officiel rooms are not possible...

Thé problèm with "custom" rooms is that you lost some features from the box,you have no support if you have a problème...you have no updates...

Don't know, but reading is also a profession. We are talking about the HD audio which does not work and that someone has managed to get that working on the S922x chip. And sent that ROM for them to watch. And then just ask if it is also possible to integrate android TV. So if you had paid attention, nothing was installed from someone else .....

We are here in the bugtracker from the last firmware ,maybe its better to open New post ....if you want talk about alternative rooms....

I dont think that minix have to look rooms from other devices, manufacturer for resolved the probleme
And as i Say ,if you want talk about alternative rooms (Android tv) for the u22xj better open New post...

this post came alive with your feedback and comments, i don't comment at all as i think im fine with reading and learning how the tech works.

I'm gonna say you are a “Hero”, there are many who are waiting for the update. I doubt that minix is not doing anything, i beleive the issue is more of a competency, capability (on minix side) Vs the amlogic limitations.

There is no need for a new post because the issue mentioned here “HD pasthrough” is relevant to this firmware.

We're all perfectly free to believe whatever we wish mate, but bear in mind the implications such a statement has given that it was obviously MINIX who told us they couldn't resolve the HD audio problems without direct input from Amlogic!! :).

Have you since obtained additional information to sway your belief as to why MINIX would completely mislead us all or why Amlogic apparently have nothing to do with it?

I'm sure others would like to see the information you've sourced explaining why you now believe something else entirely :).

P.S. Not being funny mate, just asking :).

You're ultimately comparing chalk & cheese mate ;). If only it were that simple, or Android as simple as CoreELEC, for example.

Lets put it this way, If i thought it would take a year for a supplier to fix my boiler, I would find someone else to do it ;)
